Who are we

Our community includes the suburbs of Karama, Malak, Wulagi and Anula where 4000 children and young people live in 3 268 families.

The Sanderson Alliance is a way for everyone in the Sanderson Community to work together so that all our children and young people learn and thrive. We are a cross-sectoral, community-led collective partnership between schools in the Sanderson area, parents, carers, schools, community services, government departments, businesses, churches, sporting clubs, cultural leaders and others.

The story of the Sanderson Alliance started in 2014 when schools and organisations working in the Sanderson area came together to look at new ways of working together collaboratively. Now, using a collective impact approach since late 2015, we are working closely together for children and young people.

The early work to create the Sanderson Alliance has been led by:

Anglicare  Malak Primary School
Anula Primary School Malak Reengagement Centre
Australian Department of Social Services Manunda Terrace Primary School
CatholiCare NT Music School
Charles Darwin University Opportunity Child
City of Darwin Red Cross
Corrugated Iron Youth Arts Sanderson Middle School
Danila Dilba Sanderson area residents
Darwin Community Arts Save the Children
Good Start Early Learning The Smith Family
Karama and Sanderson Members of Legislative Assembly Wulagi Primary School

We have also been well supported by Darwin Community Arts, Sanderson Neighbourhood Activity Centre, the Multicultural Council of the NT, Dawn House and NT Domestic Violence directorate, YWCA and the Larrakia Nation.

You can get involved too. If you live or work in the Sanderson area and you care about creating a community where all our children learn and thrive, join us or contact us!
