One of the aspirations that people shared with us during our month of conversations in May, was to live in a fun community where there are many activities that children, young people and adults want to engage in.
These aspirations are helping the Sanderson Alliance to prioritise the issues that we work on together as a community.
This is your chance to tell us what would make the holidays more fun for more young people. Please click here to visit our survey page.
Parents of children of all ages valued the many places like parks, sports grounds and programs that provided free entertainment. Primary school age children and parents of babies and very young children were very, very appreciative of the quality and range of fun and educational activities on offer for them.
At the time the parents were thinking ahead to the mid-year school holidays. “We need school holiday activities for upper primary and middle school students that are local…” “Four weeks of school holidays is a long time to shelter kids. They have friends and siblings and need to be out and feel safe.”
Some parents told us that they couldn’t access enough activities for young people in the school holidays. To understand the situation better we are running a survey. This is your chance to share your experiences and ideas. It will only take a few minutes of your time - but with your help, as a community we can make the holidays more fun for more young people.
